What was the challenge?

Out with the old and in with the new. This Kitchen was in desperate need of some TCL. The family was looking to upgrade their kitchen into an inviting space perfect for socializing and cooking. The open floor plan was designed so that no matter what area you are enjoying, the family is all together. During the renovation, the homeowners stayed on the second floor, living through all the weather and the ups and downs. Keeping the worksite warm and clean during the various phases of the renovation, while the homeowners worked and lived on the property, was made a priority.

What was delivered?

The new kitchen was designed to accommodate easy socializing/entertaining. The main floor renovation enabled the reconsideration of the kitchen footprint, reclaiming space from the dining room into an expansive kitchen. The two kitchen islands offer efficiency and flexibility for multiple uses. One island is used as a specialty bar/coffee area by the
homeowner who is an amateur barista/mixologist, while the other is used as the food prep station. Black and gold fixtures and fittings add elegance and dimension to the space. End-to-end shaker cabinetry in Starry Night, against the natural birch tones really make this kitchen pop. Dual quartz countertops in contrasting dark and light tones have also been added to the space. LED pot lights allow for an eco-friendlier home with a reduced electrical footprint. Every corner was thoughtfully designed and utilized, including a hidden kitchen storage cupboard under the stairs. Amsted Design-Build did a great job responding to this family needs, leaving them with a show stopping kitchen that they will cherish for years to come.
