What was the challenge?

Nestled within one of Ottawa’s most exclusive and discreet neighbourhoods, this 7000 sq ft estate has been revitalized by the homeowners to reflect their unique history and personality. By incorporating elements of their travels, the home’s aesthetic has been elevated to new heights of sophistication and elegance, transforming it from a builder-grade house to a true oasis.

What was delivered?

Every aspect of this project was designed with great care to reflect the client’s preferences. Custom artwork representing their work in the steel industry and other artifacts that reflect on the devastating legacy of the Holocaust were thoughtfully chosen. The original dark hardwood floors felt heavy and outdated and were replaced with large format marble tile on the main floor and wood plank laminate throughout. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were all updated to match the client’s vision of high-end hotel living within an urban enclave.

A stunning powder room provides a relaxing pause before heading to the exquisite black and gold bar. With black granite surfaces, gold accents, and custom-stained oak cabinets, the bar is perfect for cozy conversations. Smart home lighting controls throughout allow the hosts to set the mood. Old-world charm is evident in the staircase spindles, and a dramatic carpet runner leads to the second floor. Finally, the addition of a wellness center, complete with a gym overlooking the river, salon, and luxurious massage room, makes this upgrade truly extraordinary.
