Patrick Lecours of Mr. Foundation was great to deal with. His crews are professional, careful, and skilled. They did much of the preparation work before my wife and I got back from vacation. This included removing wood logs and other materials from the side of the house. The task of the crew was to excavate around much of the foundation to remove the foam panels (exterior insulation) that had gradually pushed up on the flashing cover above, such that it angled towards and not away the lowest row of brick. The rainwater that was collecting in some spots had caused some of the bricks to deteriorate, and we were concerned that eventually the sill plate could be affected. Following excavation, waterproofing membrane was then installed, the footing drain replaced and then backfilled with gravel to ground level. The paving stones in front of the garage had to be lifted for the work and were later properly reinstalled at the same level as the garage floor entrance (the pavers had sunk over the years by about an inch). The parging work was nothing short of excellent. The company stuck to the original quote – there were no surprises. The only extra cost was for removal and reinstallation of the AC unit since the HVAC company we usually deal with could not schedule us in on short notice. Any questions or concerns I had were promptly addressed although at times it was challenging to get responses from the company office after leaving messages. However, contacting Patrick directly was generally the more efficient way to communicate. Mr. Foundation is definitely being considered for the reconstruction of our driveway, front steps and side walkway because of the excellent work they have done for us in the fall.
