What was the challenge?

Homeowners wanted a larger ensuite for their master bedroom to encapsulate the essence of a natural spa. The clients love for nature was an underlying theme in the design of the ensuite. They wanted an environment that resembled a natural spa. To achieve this, Capilano Builders built a curb less shower with a rain head, a separate soaker tub, and tiled the entire room with a dark natural stone tile with a bamboo custom vanity to give the sense of being in nature. Adding a skylight was purposefully done so that the homeowners could watch the stars during a relaxing bath.

What was delivered?

As the homeowners love the outdoors, it was a dream of theirs to have an ensuite that made them feel as if they were in a natural spa/rainforest. By increasing the size of the bathroom, they were able to accommodate a 5-piece bathroom with a curb less frameless walk-in shower. Large format dark stone tiles were installed on the walls and floor along with a curb less rain shower to achieve this look. Light grey satin finish quartz was used to finish the skirt and tub-deck to match the countertops on the custom bamboo-look vanity. At night, the room glows beautifully from the undermount vanity light, candles which the homeowners have around the tub deck, and the skylight which was added so the homeowners can bathe and watch the stars. They mounted faucets on the back wall and added a drop down pendant for added decor.
