Basement Bombshell

What was the challenge?

To add needed functional living and office space for a growing family with work-from-home needs, the owners decided to renovate their basement. They recognized that transforming the space would not only provide a dedicated area for work and leisure but also significantly enhance the property’s value. Additionally, renovating the basement offered an opportunity to customize the environment to perfectly suit their unique lifestyle and preferences.

What was delivered?

The basement renovation had been a client goal since they moved into the home five years prior, and with the addition of children and the need to work from home, it was finally time to act. No expense was spared to transform this space into a “basement bombshell.” Starting with a blank slate and a list of client needs, which included an expansive yet cozy entertaining area, a large office, a gym, and a kids’ playroom, the design and build exceeded their expectations. The detailing, level of finish, and color scheme were comparable to the rest of their home, creating a seamless extension that felt as if it had been part of the original construction. Health and comfort were prioritized with the inclusion of radon control, humidification control, upgraded air filtration, and spray foam insulation, all enhancing energy efficiency and overall comfort.
