Mingle Kitchen

What was the challenge?

This project aimed to increase workspace and storage while creating an open environment. The design retained existing fixtures/appliances, added millwork, and included adjustable in-floor heating. The addition of a peninsula and floor-to-ceiling cabinetry provided more storage and an inviting kitchen space. The cabinetry included a pantry storage and station that can be closed off or opened for additional workspace.

What was delivered?

The kitchen design now includes a muted palette with Scandinavian ash veneer, neutral tones, minimal profile hardware, and concealed push hardware to maintain a clean facade. Internal drawers were used to reduce seamlines and create a datum for storage. Open shelving with a concealed hood fan creates a hierarchy and encourages personalization. The kitchen was extended to provide additional work and storage space, with a 3/4″ shadow gap from changes in materials and walls/ceilings.
