What was the challenge?

This kitchen renovation was driven by the needs of a young family of four who were struggling with limited storage, dated finishes, and a lack of everyday functionality. With two young children, the homeowners wanted a space that could better support their busy lifestyle while improving comfort, organization, and usability. Rather than moving or undertaking a major addition, they sought a thoughtful redesign that would maximize the existing footprint, create more efficient storage, and provide a warm, welcoming environment that could serve as both a hardworking kitchen and a comfortable gathering place for the family.

What was delivered?

This renovation transformed the kitchen without altering the floor plan or adding square footage. The design focused on custom millwork and concealed storage solutions, including an 11-cabinet pantry wall, an appliance garage, a pullout cabinet dedicated to vitamins and supplements, extra-deep cabinetry above the refrigerator, and integrated drawers beneath a custom window bench. A soft, modern aesthetic was achieved through white oak cabinetry, quartz countertops with a continuous quartz backsplash, brass hardware, floating shelves, cloud-like island pendants, and integrated Bocci outlets. Everyday comfort and functionality were further enhanced through touch-activated under-shelf lighting, ambient sconces, improved insulation in exterior walls, subfloor repairs to eliminate squeaks, and new white oak hardwood flooring. During demolition, asbestos was discovered and professionally remediated, creating an opportunity to improve both safety and insulation. The result is a highly functional, beautifully detailed kitchen that so dramatically improved the family’s daily life that they decided to remain in the home longer than originally planned.
