What was the challenge?
The renovation was initiated as the client took over their parents’ house, which was originally characterized by dark, sectioned-off rooms and wasted space. The homeowner desired a transformation that would not only brighten the environment but also modernize it to suit their lifestyle. The existing layout lacked cohesion and was unsuitable for hosting gatherings, prompting the need for a design overhaul. By reimagining the layout, the goal was to create a more inviting, sophisticated atmosphere conducive to larger social events, aligning with the homeowner’s vision of an entertainment-friendly home.
What was delivered?
The project focused on transforming the kitchen into a connected, entertainment-centric space. By removing a major supporting wall, the renovation introduced a spacious open-concept layout that seamlessly integrates the kitchen and dining room. A large island with forest green lower cabinets, lighter-toned upper cabinets, and gold fixtures became the central feature, merging style with practicality. The bar area, with black cabinetry, a bar sink, a fridge, and a marbled black backsplash, transitions smoothly from the kitchen. The design also features a floating wood TV unit with black cabinetry, unifying the aesthetic. Gold hardware, wooden accents, and a large-format black and gold plant-themed wallpaper tie the space together. Natural light and energy-efficient windows enhance the atmosphere, while strategic design solutions addressed the challenge of removing a supporting wall. The result is a high-value, functional, and visually striking space that perfectly aligns with the homeowner’s goal, offering a luxurious yet inviting environment for social gatherings.
