What was the challenge? 

The homeowners were in desperate need of more space but still wanted to maintain the curb-appeal of their charming bungalow. They wanted to increase indoor/outdoor entertaining areas while taking advantage of panoramic North Shore views.

What was delivered? 

Shakespeare Homes & Renovations created a 950sf addition that was added to the home. This new space now incorporates a spacious new master-suite, kitchen, great room and covered deck. The kitchen now opened up to eclipse windows which provide an exterior sit-up bar where guests can pull up, enjoy a glass of wine, and chat with chef inside.

The Livingroom, features a dramatic gas fireplace covered in a grey shiplap with a chevron pattern. A new custom-built media system and storage have also been added to create a cozy and stylish space perfect for entraining their guests.

Master suite now offers direct assess to deck. It features 6-ft freestanding soaker with navy-coloured exterior, smart-toilet, traditional-look geometric-patterned flooring in navy & white, plus a two-person shower with elegant, marble-inspired surround and pleasing symmetry.

The deck increased from 750sf to 1229sf w/360sf covered/heated area, allowing clients to host large get-togethers in every season. Hand-framed transom windows above 16ft increase the natural light in dining room and create intriguing shadow-play as sun sets.
