What was the challenge?

The outdated ensuite was original to the home. It featured a large, skirted tub and a closed-in shower that lacked light and felt uninviting. The homeowners were looking to refresh the space to better suit their busy lifestyle. They wanted to modernize the look without having to change the entire layout.

What was delivered?

The overall layout of the bathroom did not need to be changed, it simply required better use of the space. Removing the framed shower wall and bulky skirted tub opened the space and allowed for a much larger glass shower. The new free-standing tub creates a more open and purposeful space for relaxing. Using the same tile for the floor, shower walls, and tub surround created a cohesive and elegant look.

The smaller hexagon mosaic used on the shower floor and niches creates visual interest against the more subtle Calcutta tile used in the rest of the ensuite. The mixed metal finishes throughout complement each other and provide contrast against the more subtle colour scheme. The larger vanity now provides ample storage for everyday items and allows for an efficient morning routine for two people.
