Condo renovations are often limited by rules, space, and structure—but this kitchen renovation proves that with the right team, even the most constrained spaces can be transformed into something extraordinary.
That’s where Eurodale Design + Build comes in. As a RenoMark-verified design-build firm in Toronto, Eurodale specializes in tackling complex renovations with creativity and precision. A skillset that’s especially important in condos, where every inch counts and every change must navigate building rules and service limitations.
The Condo Challenge: Making Space Where There Is None
Renovating a condo isn’t like renovating a detached home. You’re working within fixed walls, dealing with shared systems, and often facing strict condo board regulations.
This kitchen was completely reimagined. Custom cabinetry in a soft gray and warm wood tone creates a modern yet inviting aesthetic. Power-actuated upper cabinets maximize storage without cluttering the space. Porcelain slab counters wrap the kitchen in elegance, while the backsplash features slim vertical tiles in a crisp white, adding texture and visual interest.
But the real showstoppers? A fully concealed and integrated suite of undercounter refrigerator and freezer drawers, a hidden appliance garage, and a gas range framed by stepped millwork that stretches from floor to ceiling. All of it is accessible via a rolling library ladder, which glides along a track above the cabinetry—a striking blend of form and function that turns everyday cooking into an elevated experience.
The flooring ties it all together: herringbone-patterned wide plank flooring in a cool gray tone runs seamlessly from the kitchen into the living area, creating continuity and sophistication.
This stunning transformation didn’t go unnoticed—Eurodale won Best Kitchen Renovation at the 2025 OHBA Awards of Distinction for this very project, a testament to the firm’s ability to elevate condo living through design excellence.
”This renovation wasn’t without challenges. The existing windows are horrible, and as common elements, we can’t change them. They sweat behind curtains and soak the hardwood floor causing visual damage and mould. Our solution was to extend the existing HVAC ducting over each of the large windows and doors at each end of the suite. We created a concealed linear strip duct that ‘washes’ the glazing with air flow, creating a curtain of air that helps remove the condensation created between the indoor and outdoor temperature differentials. Further, we used ‘wood-look’ heated herringbone ceramic tile floors which are much more durable eliminating the risk of damage and mould. The bulkhead for the HVAC changes perfectly doubled as a concealing valence for the custom window covering draperies.” – Brendan Charters, Eurodale Design + Build

Privacy and Functionality in Tight Quarters
Condo living often means balancing openness with the need for personal space. Smart renovations can make a world of difference—whether it’s adding soundproofing between rooms, creating defined zones for work and relaxation, or using built-ins to maximize storage without sacrificing style.
In this renovation, thoughtful design choices helped carve out privacy without closing off the space. A built-in desk area with integrated drawers and a wall-mounted TV creates a functional home office that blends seamlessly into the main living space. Sliding sheer drapes soften the natural light pouring in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, while layered lighting ensures the space feels warm and inviting day or night. It’s a reminder that even in tight quarters, functionality and comfort can go hand in hand.
“Condo living is now much smaller by way of square footage than a single-family home…but they often have taller ceilings. We use custom millwork to create storage in the total volume of space. 10-12 and even 14ft ceilings in lofts creates huge opportunities to improve the functionality. Going custom allows it to look really chic – like this project with the staggered and stepped millwork with variation of painted, stained and textured finishes that visually breaks up the total vertical massing.” – Brendan Charters, Eurodale Design + Build

Why RenoMark Matters—Especially in Condo Renovations
Eurodale Design + Build is a proud member of the RenoMark program, which sets the standard for professionalism in the renovation industry. RenoMark renovators follow a strict code of conduct, including written contracts, proper licensing and insurance, and warranties on their work.
In condo renovations, where rules around common elements, approvals, and staging can be complex, working with a RenoMark-certified professional is essential. These renovators understand how to navigate the red tape while delivering high-quality results that respect both the building and the homeowner’s vision.
“If you want a professional process and final product, its imperative that you work with a professional firm. A group that takes their business and client commitments seriously. RenoMark renovators abide by a strict code of conduct, embark on continuing education, use contracts and provide warranties. Anything less is truly leaving your project to chance, and is likely quite risky.” – Brendan Charters, Eurodale Design + Build
