What was the challenge?

The clients sought to renovate their home to create a more open and cohesive living space by removing the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining and living areas. Their primary goal was to foster a sense of unity and togetherness for their family, which includes two children. By opening up the floor plan, the clients aimed to modernize the space, enhance its aesthetic appeal, and increase its resale value. This transformation allows natural light to cascade freely from the front of the house to the back, creating a seamless and inviting environment that connects the kitchen, dining, and living spaces.

What was delivered?

The project embraced a modern farmhouse style with gold accents, following the clients’ cohesive vision. A brighter color palette was used to visually enlarge the space, making it feel more expansive and airy. Despite the challenges of matching gold finishes across plumbing, hardware, and lighting, the design team successfully integrated these elements to create a harmonious look. Notable features of the renovation include a bridge faucet, thick mitered countertops, and an appliance garage to maintain clutter-free counters. The triangulated workspace and large, unimpeded island enhance functionality, making the kitchen ideal for both everyday family activities and entertaining. The serene color scheme contributes to a tranquil atmosphere, perfectly aligning with the clients’ desire for a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
