What was the challenge?

The homeowners wanted their individual private zen-like ensuite retreats while maintaining a sense of connection in a shared space.

What was delivered?

His/hers. Yin/yang. These concepts of similarity and duality capture the essence of this ensuite bathroom. The unique design gracefully serves the individual needs of the homeowners while maintaining a sense of connection. Subdued elegance characterizes this extensive master ensuite. It includes a walk-through his-and-her shower, separate sink
and vanity areas, a make-up table and his-and-her dressing rooms. His area is defined by stained oak cabinetry with floating vanity and under-cabinet lighting. A unique transom window lets in natural light from the other half of this ensuite.

Her space mirrors the layout, done in shades of white. Large glazing floods the room with natural light and a sense of serenity throughout the entire space, reflecting off the Carrara-inspired porcelain tile. On this side, a ceiling-hung LED mirror ensures the best dressing light possible without obscuring the windows and the peaceful views of the Rideau River. Super White natural stone counters add warmth to this elegant, monochromatic room.

The high-tech ensuite also features dual whole-body showers, automated toilets and heated floors. His and her sides both stay connected to news and stock markets via wall-mounted televisions in each space.
