What was the challenge?

The clients loved their view but desired an outdoor living space where they could comfortably enjoy the outdoors all year round. Due to their city’s regulatory requirements, the footprint of the existing deck could not be increased, so they had to work with the existing space and make it functional for the homeowners.

What was delivered?

Where before their deck felt underutilized and cold, their new outdoor living space delivered both function and warmth. With the addition of a gas fireplace, two flush-mount infrared heaters, and motorized screens to close off the space, this stunning deck can now be used year-round.

As avid entertainers, having access to the deck from two different doorways to their kitchen made hosting guests easier. The new space flows seamlessly with the rest of the home, connecting them to their backyard below and two separate entry points to the kitchen. Using the existing footprint, they were able to accommodate a formal dining area, and sitting space, and build a gas fireplace next to the built-in barbeque.
