What was the challenge?

This renovation was commissioned to better fit a growing family. The clients wanted to create a space where they could entertain in all aspects of their home, and they particularly wanted to be able to host family get-togethers in space where they could see everyone without a wall constricting their movements.

The client wanted to avoid having posts in their floor plan, however, budget restraints required them to have one. Kooger Construction was able to hide most of the other posts in outside walls. Because of the newly implemented open floor plan issues were encountered in rerouting the HVAC system and the HVAC had to be run in the back of two kitchen cabinets. In addition to this, the worldwide shortage of building materials and supplies required searching beyond regular suppliers to find everything needed to complete this project.

What was delivered?

By removing most walls, this renovation allowed easy access to the other spaces in the house, and the flow of the house was significantly improved. Starting in the front room, a small guest bathroom was renovated so that those who stop in don’t need to fully enter the house. A turn to the left from the front door brings you to an open space kitchen, dining room, and living room. This was designed so that the clients could entertain guests with all the space they need. By taking out the walls and opening up the space, Kooger Construction gave this family the right space to make memories with children and grandchildren. With their updated space they can entertain to their heart’s content.
