What was the challenge?

The renovation goal was to increase both counter space and cabinet space, making the kitchen more functional for the
homeowner and their guests. By redesigning the kitchen and adding an island, they were able to achieve both goals and increase the functionality of the kitchen for this large family.

What was delivered?

A curved drywall bulkhead, flowing from the kitchen to the living room space, created cohesion between the two spaces. This bulkhead allowed for potlights, as well as hidden accent lighting between the bulkhead and ceiling. The tones of the kitchen millwork provided a natural warmth, contrasting with the depth of the black quartz countertops and more industrial materials in the space (wine rack, TV stand, barstools). A kitchen island was installed to create more storage space and room for entertaining, while also being functional with built-in appliances and power run to it.

A custom metal wine rack was fabricated to display the homeowner’s collection, as well as a pivoting TV and fireplace stand, which allows people to watch TV from the kitchen. In the end, this renovation checked all the boxes, by Improving the functionality of the condo and creating a unique and modern aesthetic that flows throughout.
