What was the challenge?

This retiring couple was looking to transition into condo living. The suite was located on the top floor which meant extensive coordination was necessary to get materials up and recycled waste down, which included craning large format slabs from the street to the balcony. Strict strata guidelines which catered to both a residential and commercial nature meant work hours were tight and needed to be completed over multiple days.

The master bathroom and walk-through closet square footage were integrated, and the bathroom layout flipped to create a far more spacious feel, while the removal of the tub shower made it far more accessible, and more appropriate for the client’s use. The narrow, galley-style kitchen allowed for the relocation of appliances based on typical usage. The addition of a built-in coffee maker, fridge, wine rack, and greater storage allow the countertops to be kept clutter-free.

What was delivered?

The contemporary style was brought to the forefront of this condo renovation. Large format slabs were used to clad walls in the front entrance and bathrooms, along with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace façade. A timeless millwork collection brings new life to the kitchen, bathrooms, and walk-through closet. The ceilings were scraped smooth and door profiles and trim were updated to create a modern aesthetic. Black window shutters add contrast against the bright white walls following the contemporary style throughout.
