What was the challenge?

These homeowners decided to renovate their property with the goal of creating a modern, timeless work-live space that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic appeal. Recognizing the growing need for a versatile environment that accommodates both professional and personal activities, they envisioned a design that would not only enhance their lifestyle but also add lasting value to their home. Additionally, they aimed to improve the bathroom usage and layout, ensuring that it meets the demands of daily life while providing a more efficient and comfortable experience. By addressing these key areas, the renovation fosters a harmonious balance between work and leisure, catering to the evolving needs of contemporary living.

What was delivered?

The interior design embraces a contemporary aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the serene experience of living inside a silo with a view of a wheat field, reflected in the neutral color palette and natural elements. The design incorporates built-in appliances for a seamless millwork appearance, featuring fingerprint-resistant materials and easy-clean surfaces in kitchens and bathrooms. This sleek aesthetic is further enhanced by the absence of handles on millwork, the use of light colors, and strategically placed mirrors to visually expand the space. A double-sided fireplace with a custom concrete mantel offers a central focal point, while a shadow-line top-filler in kitchen millwork, an island waterfall, and a series of three-layered upper cabinets, including two large open ones, add layers of sophistication. An added bulkhead in the bedroom and living room centers lighting to highlight art pieces, and local millwork replicates high-quality European designs. The balcony features vinyl flooring for a smooth transition from indoors, and the removal of the wall between the foyer closet and laundry allows for a larger sliding mirror door, enhancing the overall spaciousness and functionality.
